Information for NCS parents

學與教

  • 增設非華語中文加輔班,根據非華語學生學習中文的難點設計及調整課堂教學,協助學生以小步子方式讓學生循序漸進地學習中文。

  • 透過集中識字、兒歌韻文、中國經典兒歌教學,讓非華語學生大量識字,從而提升其認讀及閱讀能力。

  • 適時滲入電子科技元素,利用非華語電子教學平台及QR CODE程式進行教學,從而提升學生學習興趣及動機。

  • 在課堂教學中增設與中國文化相關的情境,以主題式學習協助非華語學生建立詞彙網絡、了解中國文化。

  • 高小數學及常識科工作紙加入英文詞彙,為非華語學生提供多元化的學習支援。

建構共融校園

  • 透過各類文化聯課活動及家教會聯誼活動,建立關愛共融的校園文化,讓非華語學生喜愛上學。

  • 鼓勵非華語學生參加不同類型的活動,豐富他們的學習經歷,培養非華語學生對中國文化的興趣。

  • 為非華語家長安排工作坊, 讓他們認識支援子女學習中文的方法,並介紹各科組需要學生運用的網站或程式。

  • 於各類的家長會安排非華語助理為非華語家長作翻譯,加強老師與非華語家長溝通,從而明白子女的學習狀況,幫助融入香港生活。

Learning and Teaching

  • The NCS Chinese tutorial class is designed and adjusted according to the difficulties of NCS students in learning Chinese, and helps students to learn Chinese in a gradual and step-by-step manner.

  • Through the teaching of concentrated literacy, rhymes of children’s songs and Chinese classical songs, NCS students can learn a large number of vocabulary, thus enhancing their reading and recognition skills.

  • We will use the NCS e-learning platform and QR CODE application for teaching and learning to enhance students』 interest and motivation.

  • By adding Chinese culture-related contexts to classroom teaching, theme-based learning is used to help NCS students build vocabulary networks and understand Chinese culture.

  • English vocabulary has been added to the Upper Elementary Mathematics and General Studies worksheets to provide diverse learning support for NCS students.

Building an Inclusive Campus

  • Through various cultural co-curricular activities and PTA recreational activities, a caring and inclusive campus culture is established to make NCS students enjoy going to school.

  • NCS students are encouraged to participate in different types of activities to enrich their learning experience and cultivate their interest in Chinese culture.

  • Workshops will be arranged for NCS parents to learn about ways to support their children’s Chinese learning and to introduce websites or programs that need to be used by students in each subject.

  • NCS assistants are arranged to be the interpreter for NCS parents in various parent associations to enhance communication between teachers and NCS parents, so as to understand their children’s learning status and help them integrate into the life in Hong Kong.
